OBJECTIVE

Assist a small EU manufacturer of aromatherapy products classify, import and market their product line in the United States.

SOLUTION DETAILS

The client was looking to expand their line of 24 different aromatherapy products to the United States.  RJR was able to provide the services of a U.S. Agent along with locating and recommending different contract manufacturers and distributors for the client to partner with the U.S.

RJR was able to help the client classify what their products would be considered by regulation within the U.S.  While most the products were considered cosmetics or food supplements by EU regulation, many of the products were classified differently based on current regulations in the U.S.  Ultimately, the product line was classified as a mix of cosmetics, OTC drugs, Dietary Supplements, and general consumer products.  In addition, RJR also reviewed and revised all labelling, packaging, and claims to bring the products into compliance with the appropriate regulations in the U.S. for each different product type.

OUTCOME

With RJR's assistance, the client successfully exported their products form the EU and imported them into the United States with issue.  The client is now successfully marketing their products in a number of different retail outlets and online stores.
